Gibbed.Duels.Unpack.exe crashes on Data_Core.wad

Hi everybody,
It's the first time I'm on this section of the board, nice work !
Does anybody have a clue why Gibbed.Duels.Unpack.exe crashes when I drag and drop Data_Core.wad on it.

It starts unpacking fine but then crashes, and if I continue the wiki and launch DOTP2012 I have a message stating the the WAD is corrupted.

Is is suppose to work on DOTP2012 ?
I'm on a french windows 7 64b.

I know this is a bit outdated, but perhaps it helps someone else:
The Gibbed tools indeed have an issue with DotP 2012, throwing an error about halfway-through.
I therefore used the Wad Unpacker.
I found the link at shadowmoddersguild.

But now i have the problem with Magic 2014
Gibbed.Duels.Unpack.exe crash always when i drag and drop any .wad archive ,and i download it from this site.
some help for me? any tipical advice for a stupid beginner?

My guess would be that you are trying to run it with the wrong version of the .Net framework based on the original posted error. Though there are other things that could potentially cause a crash in Gibbed.Duels.Unpack.exe so I would recommend posting your exact error (with as many details as you can give us) so that we might figure out where the error is occuring.

When things are properly set up and there aren't any corrupt files, I know for a fact that the original and the updated DATA_CORE.WAD will extract perfectly (as I've done it with both versions).

There is no error message, only say gibbed.duels.unpack.exe stopped working, trying depurate with visual studio tool give me more information, say:

'System.FormatException' [1820] in gibbed.duels.FileFormats.dll
addittional information: bad wad version

I have windows 7 and NET framework version 4.5, i didn't take gibbed from this old post, i take it from slightymagic wiki, so i supose gibbed its ok.
I take DotP 2014 from a summomole post, so i supose Data_Core is ok too.

And i have the same problem with any .wad archive, i try it with .wad archives from other mods, so i supose the problem is not .wad archives cause dosent work any .wad.

I try it to use gibbed from ms-dos and launch this mssge:

in Gibbed.Duels.FileFormats.WadFile.Deserialize(Stream input)
in Gibbed.Duels.Unpack.Program.Main(String[] arg)

That "bad wad version" message makes me wonder... could you be using Gibbed Tools for DotP2012 on DotP2014 by any chance? 2013 and 2014 have the same structure, but 2012 was different. I don't know what link you used on the Wiki, but just to be sure, try to re-download Gibbed Tools from here:

Problem solved, i downloaded the gibbed from here:

so someone has to change that link of gibbed tools to this new version
Now i have a question, if this tutorial to start modding is old..i can work with this tutorial in 2014?
Exist another tutorial to start modding?

That page is for DotP 2010 so yes it is old and since it is for DotP 2010 there really is no reason to change it as that version does still work for DotP 2010. The wiki contains pages for several versions of the game.

jacque's tutorial (linked in previous post by MC Brodie) is a great place to start for learning how to code cards for DotP 2014, though depending on what you are looking for you may find the DotP 2014 wiki a better place to start. Also since modding for DotP 2014 is very similar to modding for DotP 2013 you can also glean information from here (DotP 2013 wiki)

If you are just looking to ease into modding then you may just want to start with creating decks from cards you already have installed (either official or cards from other mods) and the easiest way to do that at the moment is using my DotP 2014 Deck Builder (link in my signature).
